Shinawatra eyes telecoms return
The former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is planning to set up a telecoms consulting business in Dubai, according to Arabian Business.
Shinawatra, who made his fortune in telecoms, recently sold Manchester City Football Club to the Abu Dhabi United Group for around US$400m and intends to use some of the funds to re-enter the telecoms market. All of the politician's assets have been frozen in Thailand.
