Onatel shares listed
The shares of Burkina Faso's telecoms incumbent Onatel were listed on West African regional exchange BRVM last Thursday.
The Burkinabe government raised CFA29bn (US$61m) by selling a 20% stake through an IPO in the fixed-line and mobile operator Onatel earlier this year. Onatel is the first Burkinabe company to be listed.
The Societe Burkinabe d'Intermediation Financiere advised the government on the transaction, which kicked off on December 22 and closed on January 31.
Onatel was privatised in 2006 when the government sold a 51% stake to Maroc Telecom.
