Executive Director, Dubai Internet City

Malek Sultan Al Malek was appointed the Executive Director for Dubai Internet City (DIC), the largest managed ICT cluster in the Middle East, on April 1st 2008. His decision to lead the ICT free zone cluster comes at a time where DIC is making phenomenal milestones in terms of growth and expansion.

Al Malek's role looks at creating new project opportunities while developing existing ones that offer profitable outcomes for the business. With Malek's strength in business relationship management, he has taken the lead in building a workforce, nurturing talent and team spirit as well as developing young potential leaders with drive and ambition. As a corporate leader in charge of one of the one of the largest ICT clusters in the world, his role also endeavors to reaffirm DIC's position as an innovative concept within the IT industry offering a host of value-added services to the market.

DIC's growth successfully continues since inception in 2000 with 140 companies joining the cluster in 2008 to total an approximate of 1300 companies.

DIC also won the Foreign Direct Investment Magazine's prestigious 'Middle East Best Hi-Tech Free Zone' Award for 2008-2009 under Al Malek's leadership.

Al Malek holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and is also a certified Project Management Professional. With a passion to broaden his horizons further, Al Malek is currently pursuing his MBA at Bradford University.

Al Malek spends his free time reading, writing Arabic poetry and enjoys playing football.
